Game Client Developer

Push Gaming is a dynamic and innovative game development studio specialising in creating top-quality, mobile-optimised online casino games. With a passion for gaming and a commitment to pushing boundaries, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences to players worldwide.

Role purpose:

We are looking for a mid-level Game Client Developer who will implement and maintain the front-end of the team's slot titles - gameplay, interfaces, and visual functionality - on the studio's shared framework and game template, across both new titles and family clones/reskins, with technical stability and performance. As a mid-level dev, you will be self-sufficient on a whole feature or component end-to-end within the team, handling edge cases without step-by-step guidance. The step up from Junior is autonomy on scoped work.

Location: hybrid in London.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise front-end game features, UI elements, and visual effects on the shared framework and game template.
  • Implement game logic within the engine/framework. The client renders an outcome that is determined by the server.
  • Build clones and reskins as thin overlays over their family base - never changing the base contract; flag anything that seems to require a base change instead of working around it.
  • Debug, test, and resolve client-side issues across devices and platforms; work with QA on defects and inconsistencies, and with artists/animators and game designers on per-title integration.
  • Participate in peer review; contribute to reusable components and tooling; raise cross-cutting needs through the team's framework intake route rather than patching the shared layer locally.
  • Maintain rendering literacy: draw calls, sprite batching, texture atlases.
  • Follow coding standards, version control practices, and the team's development workflow, delivering against the games roadmap and its priorities.
  • Any other task/responsibility which may be related and/or connected to the role of Game Client Developer.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Success in the first 3 months: Own a feature from start to release without step-by-step guidance; deliver a clone or reskin as a thin overlay without breaking its family base; hold the performance budget on real devices.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in client-side game development or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with a game engine or framework (PixiJS, Phaser, Unity).
  • Object-oriented programming and design patterns; debugging, performance optimisation, and Git.
  • A good grasp of game architecture, UI implementation, and asset integration; comfortable building on a shared codebase they consume rather than own.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; effective collaboration on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with slot or iGaming development is highly desirable; familiarity with atlas/spritesheet pipelines is a plus.
