Join Hiredbuddy as an Entry-Level Game Developer to build engaging game features using Unity and C#. Work remotely, collaborate with a creative team, and grow your skills in a supportive environment. Ideal for recent graduates or self-taught programmers with a passion for gaming.
About the Role
Hiredbuddy is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Game Developer to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of engaging gaming experiences while building a strong foundation in game development. You will work closely with senior developers, designers, and artists to transform creative concepts into playable, polished features.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and debug game mechanics and systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C# and/or C++
- Use Unity or Unreal Engine to build and iterate on game levels, UI elements, and interactive features
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs reported during playtesting and QA
- Optimize game performance for various platforms, including PC, console, and mobile
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Contribute to a positive, communicative, and creative team culture

Technologies and Tools
- Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine is essential
- Strong grasp of C# (Unity) or C++ (Unreal)
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Basic understanding of 3D math, vectors, and matrices
- Exposure to game physics and animation systems
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies is a plus
- Understanding of mobile or console deployment processes is advantageous

Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in game development or related coursework
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field (or equivalent self-taught experience)
- Working knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine, with a portfolio of sample projects
- Proficiency in C# or C++
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
- Basic understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and player engagement
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
