Game Developer for Personalized Adventure Game
This unique opportunity is for a creative and technically skilled game developer to craft a short, old-school adventure game inspired by classics like King's Quest and Monkey Island. The project is a personal commission, designed as a heartfelt proposal gift, and will guide the player through memorable moments in a relationship, culminating in a marriage proposal. The ideal candidate will have a passion for narrative-driven games, a strong appreciation for retro aesthetics, and the ability to deliver a polished, engaging experience within a tight timeline.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a narrative-driven adventure game with classic point-and-click mechanics
- Incorporate story elements and key relationship moments provided by the client
- Create pixel art or retro-inspired visuals reminiscent of 80s and 90s adventure games
- Implement puzzles, dialogue, and interactive sequences that reflect the couple’s journey
- Ensure the game is accessible and playable on modern platforms (PC or web-based preferred)
- Collaborate closely with the client to capture the intended emotional tone and story beats
- Deliver a fully functional, bug-free game within the agreed timeframe

Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience developing adventure or narrative games, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work
- Proficiency in game engines suitable for 2D adventure games (e.g., Unity, Godot, Adventure Game Studio)
- Strong skills in pixel art, sprite animation, or retro game asset creation
- Ability to write engaging dialogue and design meaningful puzzles
- Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively
- Availability to start immediately and deliver within 1–2 months
- Experience with personal or emotionally driven projects is a plus
