Game Logic Server Developer

We are looking to hire a Game Logic Server Developer to join our talented team. You will be a key player in bringing our industry-leading online slot games to life - taking a game concept and building it into a fully working game on our Java code base, and owning that product all the way through to release.

Working closely with our Game Mathematicians, you will build the game mechanics and then pass the game over for balancing, so that together you deliver games that are both fun and mathematically sound. As the owner of the final product, you will coordinate everything needed to get a game from concept to a released, client-ready title.

We invest heavily in the health of our code base, and this role is a big part of that. Alongside building new games, you can expect to spend a meaningful amount of your time improving, refactoring, and modernising our platform. A genuine interest in writing maintainable code and leaving things better than you found them is important.

Location: Hybrid in UK (London) or Poland (Warsaw).

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking a game concept or design specification and building it into a fully working game on our Java code base, owning the server-side game logic from first commit through to release.
  • Implementing core game mechanics, reel logic, feature triggers, and bonus flows so they behave exactly as the design intends.
  • Building the game mechanics in a clean, well-structured way and passing the game over to the Game Mathematicians for balancing.
  • Acting as the owner of the final product, coordinating the work needed to take a game from concept to a released, client-ready title.
  • Handling the setup and administrative work around each game so it can be integrated with the client, including configuration, metadata, and the interfaces the client relies on.
  • Collaborating closely with Game Mathematicians throughout the project, handing over a solid, well-structured game for balancing and working together to resolve logic or behavioural issues.
  • Working alongside Client Developers, Designers, QA Engineers, and Producers to make sure the server implementation lines up with the client, the art, and the intended player experience.
  • Integrating with our backend platform, managing game state, and ensuring secure, reliable handling of game rounds and transactions.
  • Diagnosing and resolving logic, behavioural, or integration issues raised during development, QA, or from live production environments.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, well-structured code, and helping to keep our code base healthy, consistent, and easy to work in.
  • Playing an active part in the ongoing improvement of our code base - refactoring, paying down technical debt, and helping shape better patterns, tooling, and development practices as the platform evolves.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
