About Us
LA BRANDS LTD is the creative studio behind the bestselling Cryptic Killers Case File Games — immersive, story-driven murder mystery games enjoyed by players across the world (check them out on amazon). Since 2018, we’ve built a reputation for creating visually distinctive, realistic, and narratively rich investigations that combine physical and digital evidence into a gripping detective experience. Our games are sold online and in retail stores globally, and we’re now seeking more talented writers to craft the next wave of Cryptic Killers mysteries.
The Role
We’re looking for imaginative, detail-oriented freelance writers with a passion for both storytelling and gameplay to create original Cryptic Killers Case Files — standalone murder mystery games packed with character, intrigue, and clever connections. Each project involves creating a full case file containing approximately 15,000–20,000 words of in-world content (letters, reports, messages, articles, etc.), along with digital evidence that is essential to solving the mystery. You’ll be assigned a game title, provided with a detailed SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), and work closely with our editorial team through several development stages to ensure the final game meets our creative and quality standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
