Company Description

Bats World Studio is an independent game studio focused on creating a sci-fi game experience with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, storytelling, and immersive gameplay. The team values creativity, experimentation, and close collaboration across disciplines to bring unique worlds to life. Role Description

The Gameplay Animator will create high-quality character and creature animations that support engaging, responsive sci-fi gameplay. In this full-time remote role, the animator will develop movement cycles, combat and interaction animations, and transitions that feel fluid and grounded in the game’s world.   • Integrating them into the game engine
  • Collaborating with designers and programmers to refine gameplay feel

The role also involves:

  • Working with motion capture data when needed
  • Contributing to animation style guidelines
  • Helping ensure consistency across all in-game animations

Qualifications

  • Strong Animation skills, including character and creature animation for gameplay.
  • Experience with Motion Capture workflows, including cleanup and integration of mocap data.
  • Ability to create and use Storyboarding to plan animation sequences and gameplay moments.
  • Proficiency in Motion Graphics for in-game visual feedback, UI animations, or cinematic elements.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with designers, programmers, and artists in a remote setting.
  • Experience with industry-standard 3D animation tools (e.g., Maya, Blender) and game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Understanding of animation principles, timing, weight, and posing tailored to interactive gameplay.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and iterate based on feedback in a distributed team environment.
  • Prior experience in game development or interactive media is highly beneficial.
