Job Opportunity: Games Coach (Hockey) and After School Club Instructor (Mathematics)
Old Swinford Services Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Games Coach (Hockey) to join our team of teachers and specialist coaches and an after school after club instructor (Mathematics).
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our afternoon games programme as well as supporting evening prep work for Year 8 and 9 and delivering a Mathematics Club for our boarders.
Person Specification
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
- Appropriate Hockey coaching qualification
- Appropriate Mathematics qualification
- Recent and relevant coaching / instructing experience with young people, ideally within a school environment
- A positive, solution-focused approach and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- A good sense of humour and the ability to remain calm, professional and effective under pressure.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the school's aims and values.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Job Specification
The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting Year 8 and Year 9 with after school prep
- Planning and delivering a Maths club for our boarder in the evening
- Working collaboratively with the Director of Sport and sports leads to ensure the highest standards of games provision.
- Leading and supporting the delivery of the afternoon games programme
- Taking responsibility for coaching school teams and delivering individual sporting activities
- Contributing to the continued growth of the co-curricular sports programme through both leadership and support of activities.
- Planning and delivering enjoyable, engaging and age-appropriate coaching sessions across a range of year groups
- Promoting Old Swinford Hospital positively within the local community and beyond
- Undertaking any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time

Hours and Remuneration
This is a zero hour contract - hours to be discussed at interview.
Rate of Pay for Level 1 Sports Coach is £18.15 per hour including statutory holiday pay.
Rate of Pay for a after school prep support Instructor and Maths Club Instructor is £18.03 per hour including statutory holiday pay.
In line with current regulation you will, if you are eligible, be offered a workplace pension through NEST.
