Help plan inclusive gaming and creative activities remotely for now. Later, run approved on-site School Edition sessions in Portsmouth for young people aged 8–16. School partnerships and delivery dates are still being developed.
What difference will you make?
Gaming and creative stations offer young people who do not primarily connect through sport an equally valued way to participate, demonstrate skills and build confidence. Planned School Edition activity will begin only after school, safeguarding, insurance and operational readiness is confirmed.
What are we looking for?
Essential at least three years of professional experience facilitating gaming or creative activities for children or young people, gained in paid or voluntary work; enthusiasm for gaming and/or creativity; patience, inclusion and clear activity explanation; reliability; professional boundaries and respectful competition. Desirable gaming/esports, creative arts, digital media, youth work, education or community facilitation; safeguarding or first-aid training.

What will you be doing?
- Run approved gaming and creative stations within School Edition, explaining rules and equipment use clearly.
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and respectful competition; include young people with different interests, abilities and confidence levels.
- Protect equipment, report faults, support safe transitions and timing, work with the Youth Engagement Lead and school staff, report welfare and safeguarding concerns, and record agreed feedback or incidents.
- Follow S.W.U.G.’s media and privacy procedures do not independently photograph, film, publish or privately contact children.

The role may lead CEO-approved stations but cannot introduce age-inappropriate games or content, change school arrangements or make external commitments.
Essential at least three years of professional experience facilitating gaming or creative activities for children or young people, gained in paid or voluntary work. This direct child-facing role requires safer recruitment, references, safeguarding induction and the DBS check legally appropriate to final duties and frequency before relevant activity. School partnerships, venue and delivery date remain unconfirmed.
