Job Details

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with some flexibility required outside these hours. (We would expect you to leave your house at 8:30am - not be onsite by 8:30am!)
  • Location: Greater Manchester (Applicants should live in the local area)
  • Vehicle: A fully expensed company van will be provided for business use only. (For insurance purposes, we require you to be over 25 years old, have been driving for 2 years, and a clean driving licence.)
  • Salary: £25,000 per year
  • Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
  • Induction: Held at our Head Office in Leeds on a Wednesday or Fridays and travel expenses will be reimbursed for this.
  • Closing Date: Friday 25th September 2026 (We reserve the right to close this vacancy early)
  • Interview Date: TBC

The Ideal Gardener

  • Previous experience in a similar gardening, grounds maintenance, or general labouring role preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong customer service skills to interact with clients in a professional manner.
  • Reliable, flexible, and comfortable with a varied workload.
  • A valid driver's licence and a licence to drive a sprinter-type van (based on group insurance policy) is essential.

What you will do as a Gardener

  • Gardening and Grounds Maintenance: Carry out weeding, cutting back bushes, grass cutting and strimming, ensuring gardens are kept tidy and free from weeds and rubbish.
  • Refuse and Site Clearance: Remove rubbish from properties and grounds, keeping outdoor spaces clean and safe.
  • Weighbridge Duties: Attend Dendy Dale weighbridge as and when needed.
  • Property Support: Collecting and delivering furniture into properties and building flat-pack furniture as required.
  • Flexibility and Team Contribution: Take on other reasonable duties as the business requires and provide support in other areas when needed.
