  • Variable 6am to 2.30pm or 7am - 3.30pm with rotational weekend work

Salary

Competitive depending on experience, plus service charge

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Gardener to join our dedicated Estates Team and play an important role in maintaining and enhancing the exceptional gardens, grounds and outdoor spaces across our hotel and golf estate. We take great pride in the beauty, presentation and character of our estate, and understand the important role our grounds play in creating a memorable experience for our guests, members and visitors. Your Day With Team Carden

  • Work with the team to maintain the hotel gardens, landscaped areas, lawns, borders, hedges and surrounding grounds to a high standard.
  • Carry out routine horticultural tasks including mowing, strimming, planting, pruning, weeding, edging, mulching and seasonal maintenance.
  • Assist with the planting and maintenance of seasonal displays, flower beds, shrubs, trees and ornamental plants.
  • Monitor plant health and identify weeds, pests, diseases and other issues
  • Operate and maintain a range of gardening equipment, machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Support irrigation and watering requirements across the estate, particularly during periods of dry weather.
  • Keep pathways, terraces, entrances and other external guest areas clean, tidy and well presented.
  • Work closely with the wider Estates and Golf Course teams to ensure the grounds are maintained consistently across the property and assist with seasonal projects.

About You

  • Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, grounds maintenance or a similar role.
  • A genuine pride and passion in your work and a strong desire to maintain the estate to an exceptional standard.
  • A keen eye for detail, with the ability to spot the small things that can make a big difference to the overall appearance of the grounds.
  • Caring and conscientious, with an appreciation for the time, patience and attention required to maintain an established estate.
  • Good knowledge of plants, seasonal maintenance, pruning, planting and general horticultural practices.
  • Practical, hands-on and willing to get stuck in, whatever the weather or task.
  • Reliable, hardworking and organised, with the ability to manage your time and work independently.
  • A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively with the wider Estates and Golf Course teams.
