Garment Technologist
Create Recruitment are exclusively partnering with an established design and production-to-delivery supplier specialising in women’s, men’s and children’s nightwear and loungewear, who are looking to appoint an experienced Garment Technologist to join their growing team.
About the Company
Based in Islington, London, the business has a small, close-knit team covering design, pattern cutting, technical, merchandising and finance, supplying some of the UK’s leading high street and boutique brands. Due to continued expansion, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist to work closely with the UK team, customers and overseas factories, managing the technical process from the first proto sample through to production and ensuring garments are delivered to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
- Measuring and assessing fit samples
- Working closely with the in-house pattern cutter on amendments
- Creating garment specifications and factory packs
- Managing critical paths
- Acting as the key technical contact for overseas factories on pattern, grading, fit and production queries
- Managing garment testing and approvals
- Taking responsibility for your own accounts
- Carrying out technical and investigative work throughout the production process
Requirements
- At least 8 years’ experience in a similar Garment Technologist role
- Strong knowledge of pattern cutting, garment construction, grade rules, measuring and fitting, and different fabric bases
- Confident making minor amendments to paper patterns
- Experienced in dealing directly with customers
- Ability to build strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confident communication
- Experience within nightwear is preferable but not essential

Position Details
- Type: Full-time hybrid
- Location: Islington, London (at least one day per week in the office, remaining days remote)
- Office Requirements: May vary from week to week, with some weeks requiring additional days in the office
