Responsibilities

Fit & Technical Development

  • Lead all fit sessions, ensuring consistency in the brand’s fit handwriting across seasons.

Product Development & Supplier Partnership

  • Issue tech packs, specs, and construction details to suppliers.
  • Partner with the founder and design team on fabric, trim, and construction choices, advising on feasibility, cost, and quality.

Quality, Compliance & Returns

  • Set and uphold quality standards for make, finish, and packaging.
  • Manage fabric and garment testing, care labelling, and compliance for UK and EU markets.

Critical Path & Production

  • Monitor the critical path, escalating risks early.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Garment Technologist, ideally with multi-category exposure.
  • Strong understanding of patterns and grading, with the ability to confidently brief and review pattern cutters.
  • Expertise in jersey, wovens, knitwear, and outerwear (or strong in two with a willingness to develop others).
  • Knowledge of garment washes, finishes, and shrinkage allowances.
  • Experience working with both nearshore and offshore suppliers.
  • Ability to interpret fabric test reports and make commercially sound recommendations.
  • Awareness of CSR and ethical sourcing frameworks (e.g., Sedex, SMETA, BSCI).
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of the link between fit, quality, returns, and margin.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Shopify, and tech pack tools (Google Sheets, PDF tech packs, or PLM).
  • Calm, organised, and proactive, with a hands-on approach in a small-team environment.
