Nova of London Ltd is looking for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join our fast-paced womenswear technical team.

This is a specialist Garment Technology role, requiring relevant technical experience rather than a primarily fashion design background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure garments and prepare fit logs, specifications, and technical comments.
  • Attend fit sessions and identify fit and construction issues.
  • Review grading and ensure consistent fit across the size range.
  • Assess garment construction, stitching, finishing, and workmanship.
  • Understand how fabrics affect garment fit and construction.
  • Review samples from development through to pre-production approval.
  • Provide clear technical and fit comments to overseas factories.
  • Review test reports and monitor sample approvals.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year's commercial Garment Technology experience.
  • Strong understanding of garment patterns, fit, and construction.
  • Good knowledge of measurements, specifications, and grading.
  • Good understanding of woven and knitted fabrics.
  • Ability to identify fit and construction issues and communicate clearly with factories.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
