ROLE OVERVIEW - Garment Technologist- Loungewear and Nightwear
To lead the fit, quality and technical development of product from sketch through to production, ensuring garments meet TOAST standards and customer expectations.
To work collaboratively with Product Development, Design, Buying, Merchandising, Production and suppliers to deliver product that reflects the TOAST ethos of simplicity, originality, creativity and thoughtfulness, whilst maintaining quality, fit and commercial objectives.
To manage and communicate all technical aspects of a garment, supporting suppliers and internal teams to achieve critical path deadlines and deliver a highly cohesive range.
To lead fit sessions, drive continuous improvement through customer feedback and returns analysis, and support the development of both the assistant team and supplier base to achieve the highest technical standards.

ROLE IN DETAIL
Produce & maintain technical workbooks, to include garment specification sheets, detailed construction & fit notes, and communicating clearly to suppliers from sketch through to production.
Attend seasonal Sketch, Proto, Line Freeze, reporting on fit, quality and supplier issues, offering solutions where applicable.
Manage the weekly fittings liaising with Product Development & Production Managers, ensuring company priorities are addressed and fittings are completed in line with critical dates.

Work with Product Developers and assistant Product developers in a thoughtful and collaborative manner to support development of a highly cohesive range.
Working closely with the Design, Fabric & Buying & Merchandising team, to ensure the fit and sizing are in line with range plan and company demand.
Working closely with the supply base to understand their strengths and capabilities, maintaining good & effective working relationships.
Supporting the suppliers and internal teams during the development process, training where necessary and communicating promptly to ensure critical dates are achieved.
Review monthly returns report, meeting with Design, Buying & Merchandising regularly to understand any issues, ensuring all teams are aligned and any action points are noted and communicated throughout the business.
Working closely with supply base to resolve any fit and quality issues in the production process.
Maintain a close working relationship with Product Developers, Design, Merchandising, Buying and Production, meeting regularly to discuss any issues and resolve collaboratively.
Mange assistant product developer, supporting them on sending comments, care labels and shipment approvals.
Support assistants and quality team on the approval of any shipment issues.
Support Production and quality teams in additional information relating to any customer feedback, applying any lessons learnt from faulty product to future collections.

Plan monthly store visits for both you and the team, maintaining a customer-focussed approach in understanding of fit and quality, Pricing and competitors.
Travel to supply base when required.
Support on any other tasks that may be required to help the team deliver.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the industry – Garment Technology womens wovens
- Indepth knowledge of fit, garment construction and grading
- Indepth understanding of TOAST, its product & design aesthetic and position in the market.
- Able to run fit session independently.
- A strong understanding of fabric construction and performance on wovens
- A strong understanding of testing for quality, safety and legal standards.
- Good critical path management skills
- Highly organised and self-motivated with clear & concise communication skills
- Professional, with a collaborative nature and positive & flexible attitude
- Confident but embraces feedback
Desirable
- Keen interest in sustainability
- Knowledge of WFX or similar PLM system
- A keen interest in arts and culture.
- A genuine passion and affinity to TOAST
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
