The Vacancy
At NCHA, our vision is More Homes, Great Services, Better Lives, and we're looking for two experienced Heating Engineers to join our established Property Services team.
This vacancy has arisen following internal promotions, creating an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and supportive Heating Services team dedicated to delivering reliable heating and hot water services to our customers.
The Role
As a Heating Engineer, you will service, maintain, repair and install domestic gas appliances and heating systems across NCHA-managed properties. You'll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive a safe, compliant and high-quality service.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing domestic gas heating systems and appliances.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to heating and hot water systems.
- Working on renewable heating technologies, including solar thermal, air source and ground source systems.
- Completing installations and minor alterations to heating systems and gas pipework.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing all required documentation.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other trades to deliver excellent customer service.
- Participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
About You
We're looking for a skilled and customer-focused engineer with extensive experience working on domestic gas appliances and central heating systems.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Current ACS accreditation including CCN1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT1, MET1, CODC1 and TPCP1A.
- G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification.
- WRAS Water Regulations Certificate.
- Part L Energy Efficiency Practitioner qualification.
- Experience of servicing, fault-finding, repairing and installing domestic heating systems.
- Strong diagnostic skills across gas appliances, wet heating systems and unvented cylinders.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good understanding of current health and safety requirements.
- Ability to use electronic systems and digital recording equipment.
- A full valid driving licence.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm (1-hour lunch)
- Friday: 8:00am to 3:30pm (1-hour lunch)
Participation in the out-of-hours call-out rota is a mandatory part of the role.
Please note – This role is subject to a basic DBS check which NCHA will provide at no cost to the successful candidate.
