Location: Wombourne
Salary: A GBP 15 : A GBP 21 per hour
Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent (will consider direct employees or sub-contract.)
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Gas Engineer specializing in new build properties to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and inspecting gas systems within newly constructed residential developments. Your expertise will ensure that all gas installations meet safety standards, building regulations, and client specifications. Duties
- Install, commission, and test gas appliances and systems in new build properties according to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough inspections of gas lines, fittings, and appliances to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing tools to assemble and secure gas infrastructure components accurately.
- Perform mechanical tasks such as pipework installation, soldering, threading, and joining to ensure robust gas systems.
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely during installation processes.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections carried out, and compliance documentation for each project.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Skills
- Proven experience with welding techniques relevant to gas system installation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, plumbing components, and carpentry skills for precise assembly work.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to gas appliances, piping systems, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and system specifications.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks required during installation phases.
- Valid commercial driving license preferred for transportation of materials or equipment between sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in assembly and troubleshooting processes.
