Gas Engineer

Location: Glasgow
Salary: £42,235 - £44,458 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Gas Engineer to join our team. The role will cover Glasgow & the South West, the current team has 7 engineers and 1 apprentice, the role will be mostly working alone carrying out gas safety checks and repairs.

About the Role

A typical day involves travelling between properties to complete gas services and safety checks, carrying out repairs to boilers and heating systems, completing installations where required, updating job records, and ensuring tenants' homes remain safe and compliant.

The role of Gas Engineer will include:

  • Carry out gas servicing, repairs, installations and LGSRs
  • Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe and health & safety regulations
  • Diagnose and repair heating and hot water faults
  • Complete accurate certification and job records
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants
  • Meet productivity, quality and compliance targets

Skills and Experiences

To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, SENWAT, CKR1, SPA1, HTR1, Unvented – G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS) or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.

  • Proven experience carrying out gas servicing, breakdown repairs, fault finding, installations and LGSRs within domestic properties
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, central heating systems, controls and hot water systems
  • Ability to diagnose faults quickly and deliver effective first-time fixes
  • Excellent understanding of gas safety legislation, compliance requirements and health & safety procedures
  • Strong customer service and communication skills when working in tenants' homes
  • Experience using handheld devices or electronic job management systems
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
