Help protect homes, businesses, and communities by raising gas safety standards across the region.

Gas Safe Register, in partnership with Capita, is recruiting a safety-focused, gas-qualified professional to join our field services team across Moray and Surrounding areas.

This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys working independently, managing their own portfolio, and using their technical gas expertise to support safer standards across registered businesses. You will inspect, report, and provide clear feedback on gas safety standards, ensuring inspections are completed accurately, professionally, and in line with agreed service levels.

Job Title:

Gas Inspector (Moray and surrounding area)

Job Description:

ABOUT GAS SAFE REGISTER

Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey. By law, gas businesses and engineers must be registered to carry out gas work legally. The register exists to help protect the public from unsafe gas work by maintaining the official list of competent gas businesses and engineers, supporting inspections, investigating unsafe work, and raising gas safety awareness.

Capita delivers the Gas Safe Register service under a concession arrangement with the Health and Safety Executive and related authorities. Together, the service plays an important role in maintaining gas safety standards and helping consumers have confidence that gas work is carried out safely and legally.

WHY JOIN US?

  • Use your gas industry experience in a role focused on quality, safety, and public protection.
  • Work independently in the community, managing an allocated portfolio of registered businesses.
  • Move into a role that offers variety beyond routine installation work.
  • Have professional conversations with engineers, businesses, and consumers about safety standards.
  • Join a service with a clear purpose: helping to improve gas safety nationwide.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Carry out and complete inspections in line with our risk model and contractual obligations with our client, the HSE.
  • Complete inspections against Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and internal operating procedures.
  • Liaise with registered businesses to ensure any identified defects are understood, addressed to the required standard, and completed within timescale.
  • Complete inspection reports within the required Service Level Agreement and to the expected standard.
  • Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with registered businesses and gas consumers.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness through ongoing CPD.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
