Gas Services Engineer

£37,960.52 per annum + Company Van

Location: Bromsgrove

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Closing Date: Wednesday 09.09.2026 5pm

Interview Date: Tuesday 22nd September 2026

About the Role

We’re looking for a Gas Services Engineer to join our team at bdht, and play a vital role in keeping our residents safe, warm and supported in their homes.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality gas servicing, repair and maintenance service across our housing stock and managed contracts. You will carry out gas appliance servicing, landlord gas safety checks and certification, as well as diagnose and repair faults with a strong focus on achieving first-time fixes. Alongside your technical expertise, you will take pride in communicating clearly with residents, helping them understand how to use their appliances safely and the value of regular servicing.

Working across Bromsgrove and surrounding areas, you will manage your own workload, ensuring appointments are met and any changes are communicated promptly. Safety is at the heart of everything you do, and you will work in full compliance with Gas Safety regulations and bdht policies, while maintaining accurate records via mobile systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
