This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Gas Engineers, ensuring compliance, health and safety, customer service, and staff wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do. As our operating area continues to grow beyond Wakefield and into surrounding counties, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our gas service.
The Role
As Gas Team Leader, you will be responsible for the operational management and support of our Gas Engineers, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
You will provide leadership, technical guidance, coaching, and performance management, helping the team consistently deliver an excellent service to our customers while maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support a team of Gas Engineers.
- Ensure full compliance with gas safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across all gas activities.
- Monitor service performance and quality standards, taking action where improvements are required.
- Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and operational delivery.
- Carry out technical audits, inspections, and quality assurance checks.
- Investigate incidents, identify learning opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Champion employee wellbeing, engagement, and development.
- Build positive relationships with internal teams, contractors, and customers.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance reporting.
- Support out-of-hours requirements as and when required.

About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership skills.
You will have:
- Significant experience within the domestic gas sector.
- Current Gas Safe registration (or the ability to maintain registration as required).
- Experience supervising or managing a team of engineers.
- A thorough understanding of gas compliance, safety legislation, and best practice.
- Strong communication and people management skills.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, or quality assurance activities.
- The ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively.
- A full UK driving licence.
