Gatekeeper & Administrator

The location of the role is Shoeburyness (fully onsite). The duration of the contract is 6 months. The pay rate on offer is £13 - £15 per hour (PAYE). The role is 37 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities of the Role

  • Control access to a highly secure Potential Explosives Site (PES), ensuring only authorised personnel and contractors are permitted entry.
  • Check contractors entering site, ensuring prohibited items (such as mobile phones, food, tools and other restricted items) are declared and managed in line with site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of personnel entering and leaving the site, ensuring full accountability and compliance with security requirements.
  • Monitor and manage the site's swipe card access system, preventing unauthorised access and following security protocols.
  • Carry out general administrative duties, including maintaining work orders, equipment records and operational databases.
  • Process emails and update Excel trackers with site information, incidents and operational records.
  • Support with raising purchase orders and basic SAP administration where appropriate.

  • Previous experience in a gatehouse, security, reception, facilities or administrative role is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict security procedures.
  • Comfortable dealing with contractors and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Basic IT skills, including data entry on Microsoft Excel and email.
  • Experience using SAP at a basic level would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
