About the role

The GBS Transition Manager is responsible for leading and managing the successful transition of business processes into the GBS organization. This includes overseeing end-to-end transition activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations, and delivering value through standardized, efficient, and scalable solutions.

Your responsibilities

Transition Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed transition plans, timelines, and resource allocations
  • Lead cross-functional teams through transition phases including due diligence, knowledge transfer, stabilization, and handover
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with transitions

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with senior stakeholders across business units to align transition goals and expectations
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively to all relevant parties

Process & Performance Management

  • Ensure transitioned processes meet agreed service levels and performance metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of processes post-transition

Change Management

  • Support change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new ways of working
  • Develop and deliver training and communication plans for impacted teams

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure transitions adhere to internal governance frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for all transition activities

The experience we're looking for

  • Proven experience in managing transitions within a GBS or shared services environment more than 10 years
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong project management experience with a track record of delivering complex transitions on time and within budget

The skills for success

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration platforms
