Opticore IT Overview

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

Opticore IT are currently searching for a GCP DevOps Engineer to actively participate in diverse projects encompassing the entire lifecycle of deploying a GCP landing zone and constructing services on top of it. You will actively participate in projects that encompass the entire lifecycle of deploying a GCP landing zone, ensuring its design, implementation, and maintenance aligned with the needs of the development teams.

You'll join our excelling team in one of our Financial Services clients on an initial 6 month contract Inside IR35 with the prospect of extension, based on site 1 day a week in the Central London.

In this role, you will actively participate in diverse projects encompassing the entire lifecycle of deploying a GCP landing zone and constructing services on top of it. In addition to onboarding support, you will continuously seek ways to enhance the processes and platform services to better serve the needs of developers. Your deep understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration will be instrumental in architecting a reliable, scalable, and secure GCP environment. By integrating best practices and leveraging automation, you will ensure a consistent and standardised experience for developers, facilitating rapid development and deployment cycles.

  • Proficiency in GCP/AWS services such as Networking, Compute Storage, Identity & Security, Operations, and Monitoring is a fundamental requirement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IaC, utilising Terraform and crafting Terraform Modules.
  • Strong skills and experience in Version Control systems (e.g., GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Proven proficiency in CI/CD practices using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Circle CI, etc.
  • Successful track record of operating in an Agile environment with enterprise change control processes.
