GCP DevOps Engineer

💰 £400/day (Inside IR35) 📍London (2/3 days in office per week)
📅 1 year Contract

Our client is looking for an experienced GCP DevOps Engineer to design, automate and manage enterprise-grade cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, cloud security, monitoring and platform reliability, working closely with Data Engineering, Application Development, Architecture and Operations teams.

The Role

  • Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
  • Automate application and data platform deployments.
  • Manage source control integration and release orchestration.
  • Deploy and manage workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement Kubernetes security, scaling, monitoring and cluster lifecycle management.
  • Configure Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging and alerting.
  • Develop dashboards, health checks and operational reporting.
  • Define SLI/SLO metrics and support reliability practices.
  • Support incident management, root cause analysis and production problem resolution.
  • Automate operational tasks and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Perform performance tuning and cloud cost optimisation.
  • Support production deployments and critical incidents.
