GCP Test Engineer
- Rate: £400-£450 per day
- Duration: 18 months
- Location: London (hybrid/remote)
- Contract: Temporary, fixed-term, outside IR35
You must either hold UK Security Clearance (SC) or be willing to obtain it before starting. You must also be willing to undergo Developed Vetting (DV). Please do not apply if you won't be able to obtain security clearance!
We’re looking for a GCP Test Engineer to support testing and assurance across secure, cloud-based platforms and services. You’ll work with platform engineers, architects, DevSecOps and security teams to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, compliant and ready for deployment in highly regulated environments.

- Test and assure cloud platforms, infrastructure and services
- Validate integrations, deployments and platform configurations
- Support automated testing and CI/CD quality practices
- Carry out integration, resilience and operational readiness testing
- Investigate defects and support troubleshooting
- Contribute to testing standards, tools and quality practices
What you’ll bring:
- Experience as a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, Platform Test Engineer or similar
- Experience testing cloud-hosted or cloud-native platforms and services
- Experience in secure, regulated or government environments
- Understanding of Agile, DevOps and DevSecOps
- Experience with infrastructure, integration and platform testing
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
- Understanding of Kubernetes, containers and Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform
- Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing
- Experience across functional, integration, regression and non-functional testing
- Familiarity with API/service testing
- Ability to analyse defects, risks and quality issues

Desirable:
- Google Distributed Cloud or private/air-gapped cloud experience
- Government, defence or highly regulated sector experience
- Python or other scripting/automation experience
- Kubernetes platform testing
- Performance, resilience or security testing experience
- Google Cloud or testing certifications
- Existing UK Government Security Clearance (SC or above)
