Role Description
This is a remote, contract role for a GCSE and A-Level Business Studies Tutor. The tutor will plan and deliver engaging online lessons aligned with relevant UK exam board specifications, covering key Business Studies concepts, case studies, and exam techniques. Day-to-day tasks include assessing student needs, setting learning objectives, preparing lesson materials, and providing clear explanations of complex topics. The tutor will monitor progress through homework, formative assessments, and exam-style questions, offering constructive feedback and tailored support. Additional responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with students and families, updating lesson plans based on performance, and promoting an encouraging, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles.

Qualifications

- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE and A-Level Business Studies, with familiarity with major UK exam boards (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
- Demonstrated experience in tutoring or teaching, including lesson planning, explaining complex concepts clearly, and supporting exam preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and build rapport with learners of different backgrounds and abilities.
- Competence with online teaching tools and platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, interactive whiteboards) and the ability to deliver structured remote sessions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including punctuality, reliability, and the capacity to manage multiple students or classes.
- Relevant academic background, such as a degree or ongoing studies in Business, Economics, Management, or a related discipline.
- Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards when working with young people; prior DBS check or willingness to obtain one is beneficial.
- Experience adapting teaching methods for different learning styles and abilities; prior work with exam anxiety or confidence-building is an advantage.
