About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic GCSE English, Maths and Science Tutors to join our team in Norfolk, providing engaging and effective tutoring sessions during school hours, term time only. You will be based in one of our teaching centres.
We have centres at:
- Taverham
- Cawston
- Swaffham
- Lound
- Thetford
We also sometimes use public libraries when a student is too far from a centre.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys by fostering confidence and knowledge. As a tutor, you will work closely with students to develop their skills, support their learning needs, and help them achieve their educational goals in a positive and encouraging environment.
Most of our students have SEND, so experience in this area is strongly preferred. PGCE and/or QTS would be an advantage.

Duties
- Deliver tailored GCSE tutoring sessions to students during school hours, focusing on exam preparation and wider skills
- Assess students’ current abilities and create personalised lesson plans, and teaching resources, that align with curriculum standards and individual learning needs
- Monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and challenges
- Foster a motivating and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and confidence-building
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and session outcomes for ongoing evaluation
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching GCSE
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students of varying abilities
- Experience working with children or young learners, including those with special educational needs
- Knowledge of current GCSE English curriculum requirements and exam techniques
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs effectively
- Excellent organizational skills to plan lessons, track progress, and manage multiple sessions efficiently
- Passion for education and a genuine desire to inspire students to succeed in English studies
