The Job in One Line
You teach GCSE. That is the job, and we have built the role so that it stays the job.
Who You Will Be Working With
PET-Xi delivers innovative, multi-award-winning programmes in schools across the country, for students from Primary through to GCSE. For 30 years we have supported over 300,000 learners nationwide to get the results they deserve.
You will work alongside our Youth Engagement Lead in a team of three. The lessons are written and the materials are there. What the day needs from you is someone to deliver the content in an engaging way.
What You Will Actually Do
- Teach up to GCSE level. Groups of 24 learners who need support, guidance and your expertise to help them succeed.
- Engage & Captivate. Our courses are designed to be high energy and intense. We need you to bring that to the forefront and passionately deliver your subject.
- Mark, feedback, track. Keep progress visible to the learner, marking workbooks and assessments to feedback and know where the learners need the most support.

Who We Are Looking For
A qualified teacher is preferable but demonstrating knowledge and experience, for us, is just as good. What we need are people that can teach their subject in an engaging way.
What we cannot train:
- One hundred per cent commitment to the young people in front of you.
- Patience with learners
- The instinct to be a role model and an ally, and to build a young person’s belief that they are worth something.
- Energy that lifts a room without needing volume.
- Grit. Some weeks go well, some don’t. We still turn up.
