ERP Transformation – Manager

Join a market leading Tax Transformation and ERP advisory team, supporting some of the world's largest organisations modernise their finance and tax operations. As part of our growing UK team (largely London based), you will work alongside experienced tax, technology and ERP specialists across global engagements, contributing to complex transformation programmes that drive real business value.

At Manager level, you will combine strong functional and technical delivery skills with leadership, commercial awareness and trusted client management. You will be accountable for the quality and timely delivery of your workstream, guide junior colleagues and help shape solutions from pursuit through implementation.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience leading ERP implementation or transformation projects, with a focus on tax rules, requirements and compliance processes.
  • Hands-on tax configuration experience in Oracle Cloud ERP, Workday Financials or comparable enterprise platforms, including global and localised requirements.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax processes, controls, compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to lead requirements gathering and translate business and tax needs into clear design documentation, solution blueprints, configuration workbooks and traceable decisions.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end finance processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Record-to-Report (R2R), and their impact on tax.
  • Experience shaping and delivering tax determination, tax reporting and tax automation solutions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to manage client stakeholders, facilitate workshops, challenge constructively and communicate complex tax and technology topics clearly.
  • Experience managing scope and project plans within transformation programmes.
  • People management experience, including delegating effectively, reviewing work, coaching team members and creating an inclusive environment.
  • Commercial awareness, including contribution to proposals and identification of follow-on opportunities.
  • Ability to apply quality, governance and risk-management requirements consistently and escalate issues appropriately.

Desirable

  • Experience configuring withholding tax requirements within Oracle Cloud ERP, Workday Financials, D365 or comparable platforms.
  • Exposure to global indirect tax compliance frameworks, with experience across EMEA and other major jurisdictions.
  • Data analysis and transformation experience, including SQL and large-volume data handling.
  • Experience managing ERP testing activities, including test strategy, SIT, UAT, defect triage, cutover and deployment readiness.
  • Understanding of tax governance, risk and control frameworks including the design of suitable controls.
  • Experience implementing e-invoicing, continuous transaction controls (CTCs) and digital reporting mandates.
  • Professional qualifications in Accounting, Tax, Finance or Technology disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the tax workstream within the ERP implementation and finance transformation programmes, with accountability for scope, delivery quality and outcomes.
  • Draft the workstream plan, manage resources and dependencies, monitor budget and progress and provide clear reporting to programme and client leadership.
  • Design the configuration of scalable tax determination, reporting and automation capabilities, ensuring alignment to agreed requirements and controls.
  • Work with client stakeholders on tax process design, compliance requirements, operating model considerations and system optimisation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with finance, tax, IT, data, business teams, systems integrators and software vendors to deliver integrated solutions and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Manage testing, defect management, cutover and post-implementation support activities for the tax workstream.
  • Identify and manage delivery risks and issues, apply appropriate governance and maintain compliance with KPMG quality and risk management requirements.
  • Support the development of our tax transformation methodologies, accelerators and service offerings.
  • Manage junior team members, providing clear direction, timely feedback and opportunities to develop.
  • Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to extend the impact of our support.
  • Contribute to proposals, solution development, fee estimates, presentations and client pitches.
