A private dental practice located in Oswestry, Shropshire (UK), is looking for a full/part time GDC-registered Dental Nurse to join our expanding Team.

Tasks

In this role you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Handling Instruments: actively assisting the dentist, orthodontist, or surgeon during a procedure.
  • Operating the Suction Unit: controlling the flow of saliva and water to ensure the dentist's visibility and the patient's comfort.
  • Preparing Materials: mixing fillings, impression materials, and medications.
  • Patient Care: greeting patients, reassuring those with dental phobia, and monitoring their condition during treatment.
  • Dental Surgery Preparation: cleaning and disinfecting work surfaces before and after each patient.
  • Instrument Sterilization: washing, autoclaving, packaging, and properly storing reusable instruments.
  • Waste Management: segregating and disposing of medical and sharps waste (needles, scalpels) in accordance with regulations.
  • Recordkeeping: recording notes dictated by the dentist in the computer system (e.g., tooth condition, treatment plans).
  • Inventory Management: monitoring expiration dates and ordering missing dental supplies.
  • Equipment Operation: developing, cataloguing, and archiving X-ray images.
  • Reception support: answering phones, registering patients, and accepting payments.

  • GDC registration
  • right to work in the UK (we can only sponsor Candidates who were granted a Skilled Worker Visa before 22 July 2025 and who are still working in their original position as a Dental Nurse)
