Senior BI Developer (Looker / Gen BI)
Financial Services
Location: Bristol
Working: 2 days per week onsite
Duration: Contract to the end of the year (likely extension)
IR35: Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Rate: Up to £600 p/d
The Role
Urgent requirement for a Senior BI Developer to join a major Financial Services organisation on a large-scale analytics transformation.
You'll play a key role in designing and scaling enterprise BI capabilities using Looker and Looker Gemini (GenBI), helping deliver modern self-service analytics and AI-powered insight across the business.
This isn't a traditional BI reporting role. We're looking for someone with deep Looker expertise who is passionate about modern BI platforms and excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of AI-enabled analytics.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and scale enterprise BI capabilities using Looker and Looker Gemini (GenBI)
- Develop and optimise LookML models, semantic layers and dashboards
- Build scalable, reusable BI solutions that enable self-service analytics
- Work with large, complex datasets to deliver meaningful business insights
- Drive BI best practice, governance and performance optimisation
- Help embed AI-powered analytics and GenBI capabilities across the organisation
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Looker and LookML
- Exposure to Looker Gemini (GenBI) or other AI-powered BI capabilities
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- Experience delivering modern BI solutions within enterprise environments
- Experience working with cloud data platforms
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
