What You'll Be Doing

As our Bank General Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our home remains a safe, clean, and pleasant place for residents, visitors, and colleagues.

Laundry Duties:

  • Collect, sort, and wash laundry items, including residents' clothing, bedding, and towels.
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Fold, iron, and store laundered items appropriately.
  • Ensure residents' personal clothing is correctly identified and returned.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
  • Report any faulty laundry equipment or maintenance concerns.

Domestic/Cleaning Duties:

  • Clean designated areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal lounges, dining rooms, and staff areas.
  • Vacuum, dust, mop floors, disinfect surfaces, and remove waste as required.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and company procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene.
  • Identify and report hazards, defects, or repair requirements promptly.
  • Support the team in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents and visitors.

Kitchen Assistant Duties:

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and refreshments.
  • Ensure dining areas are clean, tidy, and ready for meal service.
  • Wash pots, pans, crockery, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Support the Chef in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Follow food safety procedures and infection control guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with stock rotation and the safe storage of food items.
  • Ensure kitchen cleaning schedules are completed and documented.
  • Help provide a positive dining experience for residents by serving meals in a friendly and respectful manner.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Warm, approachable, and committed to providing excellent standards of service.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Hardworking with great attention to detail.
  • Passionate about supporting older people and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts, including alternate weekends when required.
  • Previous experience in domestic, laundry, catering, hospitality, or care settings is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
