Role Overview
As a General Assistant at Viscount Court, you will be responsible for carrying out cleaning and laundry duties in accordance with the relevant service specifications. You will deliver excellent customer service to tenants, keeping them informed of progress, completed tasks, and any issues encountered in a timely and professional manner, while providing regular feedback to the Scheme Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out cleaning of communal areas as detailed in the Scheme Cleaning Specification.
- Maintain all work locations in a clean and safe order
- Report to the Scheme Support Officer any damage or repairs noted/identified during the course of your work.
- Always Observe and adhere to Health and Safety requirements (including COSH regulations).
- Attend staff meetings, training, supervisions and appraisals as required.
- Laundry: Collect, receive and organise washing cycles for residents’ and other scheme laundry in accordance with washing instructions and as directed by the Scheme Support Officer
- Clean all machines and maintain the laundry in a clean and tidy state.

More about you:
- Previous experience in domestic, office, or industrial cleaning is desirable
- An understanding of basic cleaning practices, equipment and products including COSHH regulations
- An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and procedures
- Ability to work unsupervised, to organise, prioritise and use own initiative and ability to plan and prepare workload during planned absences
- Experience of working with older or vulnerable people with a variety of needs is desirable
- A self-starter with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude
- Basic IT literacy in order to manage stock lists electronically and access online training
