About ID5

ID5 delivers Adaptive Identity for omnichannel advertising. We provide intelligent, privacy-first identity infrastructure that turns fragmented signals into scalable and measurable identity solutions across devices and channels. Our technology is trusted across the digital advertising ecosystem, empowering publishers, platforms, and brands to connect with audiences effectively, responsibly, and at scale.

The Opportunity

ID5 is entering an important new phase. Following the acquisition of TrueData, we now operate across three entities in the UK and US with approximately 85 people in 15 countries. We sit at the intersection of digital identity, data protection, software and advertising regulation, so legal judgment is embedded in our products, partnerships and revenue model rather than sitting at the edge of the business.

This is ID5's senior-most legal role and a genuine executive seat. Reporting directly to the CEO & Co-Founder, you will set legal and enterprise-risk strategy, hold final legal sign-off and give the CEO, founders and board clear, decision-ready advice. You will lead a capable in-house team and specialist outside counsel, while remaining close enough to the business to make commercially pragmatic decisions at speed.

Alongside day-to-day legal leadership, you will strengthen the corporate foundations behind ID5's next phase of growth: clear governance, well-managed entities, robust contracts and IP and data rights, and reliable information and decision-making. You will also lead the legal work on strategic partnerships, corporate development and any transactions that arise.

What You'll Do

  • Enable revenue through better contracting. Own the commercial contract architecture across customer and partner agreements, product modules, order forms, DPAs and NDAs; improve templates, playbooks, delegation rules and tooling so routine deals move quickly without the top legal seat becoming a bottleneck.
  • Set ID5's legal and risk strategy. Act as the accountable legal adviser to the CEO, founders and board; surface material risk early, frame the available choices clearly and own final legal sign-off.
  • Lead corporate development and strategic projects. Advise on partnerships, investments, acquisitions, integrations and other strategic initiatives, and ensure ID5's governance, contracts and records allow the company to act quickly and confidently when opportunities arise.
  • Provide the senior legal view on privacy and data protection. Work alongside Product and Engineering, and specialist external counsel, on positions across GDPR, UK GDPR, US state privacy laws, consent frameworks, controller/processor analysis, data transfers and retention, so that privacy by design is built into product and technical decisions and ID5's positions are defensible and commercially workable.
  • Oversee disputes and intellectual-property exposure. Provide the senior legal view on material contentious matters, work with specialist outside counsel on strategy, preservation, discovery and resolution, keep IP and indemnity exposure managed, and make sure the CEO and board have a clear picture of where risk sits and what it may cost.
  • Maintain strong corporate governance. Oversee the group's entities, board materials, delegated authorities, insurance and cross-border structure, while supporting employment, marketing and other enterprise matters where senior legal judgment is required.
  • Build a scalable legal function. Develop the in-house team, set clear ownership between Legal and the business, manage the legal budget and outside-counsel panel, and use process and technology to create a function that scales with ID5.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • You are ready to carry General Counsel-level accountability. You have operated as the senior legal decision-maker in-house, or immediately beneath one with clear ownership of enterprise-critical matters, and are comfortable advising founders, executives and boards.
  • You understand data-intensive technology. You bring strong commercial and regulatory judgment from adtech, digital identity, data infrastructure, privacy technology or a similarly complex B2B software environment.
  • You combine privacy fluency with commercial instinct. You can form defensible positions on novel data-protection questions, or pressure-test positions formed by specialists, and translate them into practical product and contracting decisions rather than defaulting to theoretical or overly cautious advice.
  • You are a proactive, collaborative business partner. Commercial, Product, Engineering and People leaders involve you early because you understand their goals, communicate plainly and help them find a responsible way forward.
  • You know how to direct specialists without outsourcing judgment. You can hold the senior view on material disputes, privacy, IP and corporate matters, use outside counsel selectively and make the final recommendation internally.
  • You build leverage through people and systems. You develop strong lawyers, delegate intelligently, establish useful guardrails and improve how legal work is prioritised, measured and delivered across a fully distributed organisation.
  • You are a qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction. You are admitted and in good standing in the US, UK or another jurisdiction appropriate to advising a UK-parented global technology group with significant US exposure.

Nice To Have

  • Direct adtech and identity ecosystem experience, including IAB consent frameworks, digital advertising standards, data marketplaces or data-broker regulation.
  • Experience integrating an acquisition across jurisdictions, including entity governance, data integration, commercial migration and employment structures such as EORs or PEOs.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • A true seat at the table. You will report directly to the CEO & Co-Founder, hold standing access to the board and shape decisions rather than review them after they have already been made.
  • A business where legal judgment genuinely matters. Identity, privacy and responsible data use sit at the centre of ID5's product and strategy, giving Legal a rare opportunity to influence both the company and the wider market.
  • A pivotal corporate chapter. You will strengthen the legal and governance foundations for ID5's next stage of growth and influence the strategic decisions that shape it.
  • Meaningful scope without unnecessary hierarchy. You will lead a focused team, work directly with senior decision-makers and see the impact of your judgment across product, revenue, risk and corporate strategy.
  • The opportunity to build something durable. You will inherit a broad mandate and have the authority to clarify ownership, improve systems and create a legal function that serves ID5 well through its next phase and beyond.
