The Role

We are seeking a General Counsel to lead legal and regulatory matters across our UK, Ireland and Canada businesses.

This is a senior, standalone role operating at executive level, reporting to the CEO (International), with a functional line to Group Legal.

The role is central to how legal and regulatory requirements are interpreted and applied in practice across a regulated, product-led consumer finance business.

This is not a purely operational role - it requires GC-level judgement, ownership and decision-making authority.

What's so exciting about this role?

This is a high-impact General Counsel role within a regulated, product-driven business. The successful candidate will act as the central decision-maker for legal and regulatory matters, operating within a lean and distributed model, and will play a key role in enabling business growth while managing risk effectively.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day is average at humm but here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

Legal & Regulatory Leadership

  • Act as principal legal advisor to the CEO and International leadership team
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements across products, distribution models and customer journeys
  • Provide clear, commercially focused advice on legal and regulatory risk
  • Support Board-level decision-making and governance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
