General Foreman – Nuclear

Location: Sellafield, Cumbria
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Car Allowance: £5,750 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (Full Time)
Security Clearance: Ideally SC Cleared, or eligible and willing to obtain SC Clearance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Foreman with a proven background in the nuclear sector to join a major 10 year civil engineering and infrastructure delivery project at Sellafield. To support the site's long-term nuclear decommissioning programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role on one of the UK's most significant nuclear programmes, overseeing site operations, driving safety performance, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day supervision of site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate site teams to deliver project objectives safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise construction activities and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved programmes, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all site operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with all nuclear site requirements and company procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant, materials, and equipment.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, task briefings, and safety communications.
  • Support project planning activities, work programmes, and short-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Assist with project reporting, documentation, audits, and quality assurance activities.
  • Investigate incidents, close calls, and unsafe conditions, ensuring lessons learned are effectively communicated.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
