Foreman / Senior Foreman – Civils
Location: Gatwick Airport, West Sussex
Sector: Civil Engineering / Aviation
Employment: Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Foreman / Senior Foreman to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a programme of infrastructure works at Gatwick Airport. The role will involve taking responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of site activities and operatives across a range of civil engineering works within a live airport environment.
Projects will include infrastructure alterations and extensions, demolition and enabling works, external works and upgrades to existing operational facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors.
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of civils works on site.
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate labour, plant and materials.
- Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS and site procedures.
- Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays.
- Work closely with Site Engineers, Site Managers and Project Managers.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and site organisation.
- Take responsibility for allocated areas and packages of work.

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Foreman or Senior Foreman within civil engineering.
- Strong hands-on background managing civils and groundworks activities.
- Experience across areas such as drainage, utilities, concrete works, excavations, external works, demolition or enabling works.
- Confident supervising direct labour and subcontractors.
- Good understanding of RAMS and site health & safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Airport/airside experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Relevant CSCS/CPCS qualifications and SSSTS or SMSTS.

Airport Security Requirements:
Due to the location of the works, the successful candidate will need to complete the required airport security clearance process, including a DBS check and satisfactory five-year employment/referencing history.
