Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for independently carrying out general handyman reactive maintenance tasks whilst also assisting Building Fabric & Civils tradesmen to carry out various planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

Hours Per Week:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours

The General Labourer Will

  • Undertake a range of maintenance and project works including minor building fabric and minor civils type works. Assisting other trades with refurbishment projects and other general labouring duties.
  • Working either as part of the site team completing minor works and maintenance activities or work independently on minor tasks.
  • Able to carry out works as per agreed timeframes ensuring practical completion is achieved as scheduled.
  • Deliveries of material between sites and local suppliers.
  • Observing the highest levels of health and safety at all times and ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Overall site welfare duties.
  • Will be comfortable working at height.
  • Carry out planned and reactive works within the agreed times and to the highest standard, complying with current regulations and clients specifications.

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferably within the maintenance or construction industry

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience carrying out Planned Maintenance Tasks
  • Current Full UK Driver’s Licence
  • Plant operator qualifications e.g. forklift, mini digger, dumper, MEWPs.
