We are currently recruiting for an experienced General Ledger Accounts Assistant on a Fixed Term Contract, to join our team based in Abingdon (Oxfordshire).

Role: General Ledger Accounts Assistant

Role Type: Fixed Term Contract

Salary: Competitive salary, plus excellent company benefits

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Hybrid, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Main Responsibilities

  • Processing of local and foreign payments
  • Allocation of cash receipts and payments against sales and purchase ledgers, including month end reconciliations and revaluations of these accounts
  • Processing and controlling of fixed asset accounting and the month end reconciliations of these accounts
  • Monitoring and controlling month end accruals and prepayments and ensuring complete reconciliation processes are in place
  • Examine and track intercompany recharges
  • Review and post credit card and travel transactions
  • Prepare VAT return
  • Journal entry postings
  • Review and post intercompany recharges
  • Assist with year end statutory financial statements
  • Assist with R&D tax credits calculations and submission of claim
  • Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with cashflow forecasting
  • Adhere to SOX controls compliance

Company Benefits

  • Pension on completion of (but not subject to) your 3-month probationary period. Contributions 6% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 6% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution, and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%.
