Bouygues UK have an exciting opportunity for a General Ledger Assistant
for our Shared Service Centre, working in our professional and friendly Finance office in Haywards Heath.
Job Overview
You will work as part of the Accounting Team reporting into Senior Financial Accountant. Ensuring that the companies financial transactions are recorded in an accurate and timely basis. Producing reports for Managers, Finance Manager, Senior Shared Service Center Manager and Deputy Accounting Director
Required Skills & Experience
- Good communicator
- Capacity to work alone and as part of a team
- Sound Excel knowledge and with Microsoft Outlook
- Accurate and good attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and time management
- Positive attitude
- Some accounting experience and software knowledge of a finance system (opportunity to learn SAP)
- Ability to multi-task
Key Responsibilities
- Processing of daily manual payments
- General Ledger processing, which may include intercompany and possibly other tax/general ledger/Sales ledger tasks
- Preparing and posting of journals
- To assist with preparation work for reporting and Audits
- Reconciliations and investigation of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
- Answering queries from colleagues on some aspects of general ledger/sales ledger/ payments/ receipts
- To comply with Company Policies and Procedures
- To fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy Statement, Manual and Safe Systems of Work
- To support and practice the Company's Quality Policy and Mission Statement
