An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machine Operator to join our team in Stub Shafts (DSFT), within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit.
You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a machine operator will involve working on our new WFL M80’s producing various shaft components across all our major engine projects. Your role will also involve working with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.

- Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
- Operate a variety of inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometers, plug gauges.
- Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
- Assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
- Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in engineering, Btec Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
- The successful candidate must have completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship.
- Previous experience with aerospace components would be preferable
- Prior experience on WFL M80’s would be preferable, 5 axis milling, drilling, boring and turning or Siemens control experience is mandatory
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
- Looking for candidates who are proactive and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
