The Lost Boy, Farnham
Up to £50,000 per annum, plus bonus and a share of tronc worth up to £5,000 per year
The Lost Boy is one of Farnham’s standout pubs. Full of character, surrounded by a thriving local community and known for great food, warm hospitality and memorable guest experiences, it is a pub with real personality and enormous potential.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to take ownership of this brilliant business, lead an exceptional team and continue building The Lost Boy’s reputation as one of the best places to eat, drink and stay in Farnham.

- You will take ownership of the entire guest journey, from the first booking through to the final goodbye.

What you’ll be responsible for
As General Manager, you will take full ownership of The Lost Boy and lead the pub in line with Upham Inns’ standards, values and commercial expectations.
You Will
- Lead from the front with a visible, hands-on approach
- Recruit, train, coach and develop a high-performing team
- Inspire a genuine passion for outstanding food, drink and hospitality
- Drive consistently high levels of guest service
- Build strong relationships within the local Farnham community
- Grow repeat business and strengthen the pub’s local reputation
- Take ownership of sales, labour, costs and overall profitability
- Manage the pub’s P&L and deliver agreed budgets
- Oversee stock ordering while controlling wastage and stock levels
- Prepare team rotas at least two weeks in advance and in line with labour budgets
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and legal compliance
- Take overall responsibility for the health and safety of guests, team members and visitors
- Ensure all fire, kitchen and health and safety procedures are consistently followed
- Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor and ensure the pub operates in line with its licence
What we’re looking for
You will already be an experienced hospitality leader who understands how to balance great guest experiences, strong team engagement and commercial performance.

You Will Need
- At least one year’s experience as a General Manager within a gastro-style pub
- Alternatively, a strong track record managing different styles of pubs or restaurants
- A consistent approach to delivering exceptional guest service
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- The ability to create an engaged, accountable and successful team
- A genuine passion for hospitality, food and drink
- A proactive, reliable and highly motivated approach
- Strong financial understanding, including experience with P&Ls, sales budgets and labour control
- The flexibility to work up to 48 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- The Right to Work in the UK
