General Manager
About Us
CAMHS Professionals is a specialist healthcare staffing and recruitment agency with over a decade of experience supporting children, young people and adults with complex mental health, learning disability and behavioural needs. Built on a clinical CAMHS background, we supply high quality clinical and support staff and deliver bespoke complex care packages to local authorities, NHS trusts and independent providers across the UK. We are a growing business, including the recent launch of our education recruitment division, and are looking for an experienced General Manager to help lead the next stage of that growth.
The Role
The General Manager will be responsible for the day to day leadership of the business, overseeing both the sales and operations functions and ensuring they work together to deliver on company targets. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will turn strategy into clear plans, drive performance across the teams, and make sure that the growth we win is delivered safely, compliantly and profitably.
This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who understands the recruitment model inside out, is confident managing people and numbers, and can hold teams to high standards while building a positive, accountable culture.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Work closely with the CEO to set business plans, annual targets and budgets, and translate these into clear objectives for each team
- Lead, manage and develop the sales, recruitment, compliance and operations teams, including line management of team leaders and senior staff
- Build a high performance culture with clear accountability, regular one to ones, performance reviews and development plans
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, escalations and strategic partnerships

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
