We are looking for an experienced General Manager to take on a sizeable, established hospitality business around the Brighton area. This is a busy operation with a strong F&B trade alongside rooms, and we need someone who can genuinely balance the commercial side of running a large business with being visible and present on the floor.
The Role
You will have full ownership of the business, leading an established management team and taking responsibility for both the operational and commercial performance of the site.
Commercially, you need to be strong. You will have full P&L accountability and be confident working with budgets, EBITDA, margins, labour and L4L sales. You need to understand exactly what is happening within your business, identify opportunities and know how to improve performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
People development is equally important. You will be responsible for developing the management team, building succession and creating a strong culture across the operation.
This is still very much a hands-on hospitality role. We need someone who enjoys being visible, understands what is happening on the floor and is comfortable being part of service.
