Role Description
The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Bootlegger Bars in Leeds, responsible for leading day-to-day bar operations and team performance. This role oversees staffing, scheduling, and training, ensuring that all team members deliver excellent guest service and uphold brand standards. The General Manager manages inventory, supplier relationships, and cost control, including ordering, stock checks, and waste reduction. They monitor sales, drive revenue through promotions and events, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with licensing regulations. The role also involves handling customer feedback, resolving issues promptly, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

- Proven experience in bar, restaurant, or hospitality management, with responsibility for daily operations and team leadership.
- Strong people management skills, including recruitment, training, performance coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Solid understanding of stock control, budgeting, cost management, and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality guest service in a fast-paced environment and handle customer feedback constructively.
- Knowledge of licensing laws, health and safety standards, and best practices for a safe bar environment.
- Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and reliability.
- Comfort working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for hospitality operations.
- Previous experience in cocktail or bar-focused venues and familiarity with Leeds nightlife is an advantage.
