About the role:

The General Manager will be the main site contact lead who includes overseeing facility operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, leading a multidisciplinary team and implementing innovation through a research-based Wellbeing Programme and providing growth to the on-site Active Space and Wellbeing programme.

Westfield Health are dedicated to making a healthy difference to the quality of life of our customers, and the General Manager supports our mission by working closely with the Account Manager as part of a highly energised team, who will be responsible for the day to day operations of the contract, maintaining H&S standards, managing the onsite team, delivering a collaborative wellbeing programme and assisting with the innovation of new services whilst maintaining consistent customer service levels. They will need to be confident, outgoing and capable of promoting the services to employees and relevant stakeholders.

The offering includes Active Space, treatment room, wellbeing communities other onsite services and is a Monday to Friday onsite role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of onsite wellbeing facilities across the estate, which includes face to face and remote management through the relevant teams and stakeholders. Coordinate scheduling & services to ensure maximum utilisation of all facilities.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a multidisciplinary team across all facilities.
  • Customer Service: Develop strong relationships with participants and stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Financial Management: Monitor expenditures and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Health and Safety: Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Community Engagement: Organize employee events and collaborative initiatives with relevant stakeholders across the business.

Some national travel across sites will be expected.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Health and Wellness, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., fitness instructor, personal trainer).
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, CMIOSH or any health and safety related qualification.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Health Club management or Corporate Wellbeing.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong ability to lead and manage teams, self-motivated & proactive with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse audience and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Program Development: Creative and innovative approach to developing fitness and wellbeing programs.
  • Customer Service: Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building positive relationships.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Salary, Perks & Benefits:

  • Salary - £40,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 25 days annual leave plus 1 in lieu of Christmas period.
