This isn't a conventional Regional Sales Manager role. You'll inherit an experienced, successful team, but around 90% of your role will remain commercially focused – developing opportunities, engaging customers, working with channel partners and helping technically led projects progress from initial conversation through to successful delivery.
About the Company
Our client is an established global technology vendor specialising in networking and connectivity solutions. With 50 years in the market, they operate internationally while retaining the autonomy, pace and close-knit culture of a much smaller business.
Based from their Milton Keynes office, you'll take responsibility for the UK, Ireland and Nordics, reporting directly to the founder and CEO.
The Role
The business operates through a two-tier channel model, with sales fulfilled through authorised distributors and reseller partners. However, this isn't a traditional channel-only sales role.
You'll also work directly with end users, consultants, engineers and project stakeholders to identify requirements, create demand and develop complex opportunities before bringing the appropriate channel partners into the commercial process.
Products sit within wider networking and infrastructure projects across environments including data centres, industrial networking, transport, utilities, defence, telecommunications and critical infrastructure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll lead an established team of three covering channel development and technical support, while remaining personally involved in key commercial opportunities.
You'll have significant autonomy to run the region, develop strategy and decide how best to achieve your number. There is no rigid corporate sales playbook and no unnecessary layers of management – you'll report directly to the CEO and be trusted to run the territory.
What We're Looking For
First and foremost, you'll be a salesperson.
You'll be comfortable picking up the phone, asking good questions, developing relationships and getting in front of customers. You'll be commercially curious, proactive and able to uncover opportunities rather than relying purely on inbound leads, email campaigns or channel partners to generate business.
You'll ideally bring:
- A successful background in B2B technology sales
- Experience working within a technology vendor environment
- Good understanding of the IT channel, distributors and reseller ecosystem
- Experience developing business directly with end users as well as through channel partners
- Consultative, solution and project-led sales experience
- Knowledge of networking/network infrastructure
- Experience leading, coaching or developing salespeople
- Strong commercial negotiation and objection-handling skills
- The confidence to engage with both commercial and technical stakeholders

You don't need to arrive knowing the product portfolio inside out. Technical support is already embedded within the team and product knowledge can be taught. What matters is that you're comfortable in a networking environment and can hold a credible commercial conversation with customers and engineers.
Experience around industrial networking, switches, routers, network management, out-of-band management, data centres, connectivity or associated technologies would be particularly relevant.
The Culture
This is a small, highly experienced and genuinely close-knit UK team. They collaborate on opportunities, share knowledge and operate with considerable flexibility and trust.
The successful person won't be joining to rebuild an underperforming team or impose a new corporate structure. You'll inherit something that already works well and have the freedom to build upon it.
The role is predominantly office-based in Milton Keynes, five days per week. The working environment is modern and flexible, with excellent meeting, breakout and collaborative facilities.
If you're currently succeeding within a larger technology or networking business but want greater autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to genuinely own a region, this could be a very interesting next move.
