General Manager - Live-in available
We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead The Boathouse in Putney — a beautiful riverside pub with stunning Thames views and a unique riverside setting. Ideally located between Putney and Putney Bridge stations, The Boathouse is the perfect spot to enjoy a well-deserved drink, seasonal British food, and the riverside surroundings.
You’ll have a fantastic pub to make your own, with plenty of space for events and activities. Our first-floor Lounge seats up to 100 guests and offers a private bar and dining space ideal for parties and wedding receptions, all with exceptional river views. With a loyal local following, a premium food-led offering, and an exciting renovation on the horizon, The Boathouse is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious operator to take the business to the next level.
With significant investment planned, we’re looking for a high-calibre General Manager to lead Putney’s best riverside pub into its next chapter. You’ll help shape its future, build excitement around the transformation, champion The Boathouse within the local community, and lead the team in delivering exceptional standards, premium service, and memorable guest experiences.

We believe pubs should be differentiated and individual, and so we are looking for entrepreneurial General Managers to put their own stamp on our businesses. We're all about freedom within a framework—you decide what goes on the food menu, and that doesn't mean picking from a bank of recipes! You tailor your offer to your guests and grow the business in line with your business vision! You decide what events and sales drives to do, what the team uniform is, and look after all your own recruitment and marketing. If you are a people-focused Pub General Manager with fresh food experience, then we want to hear from you.

What we look for in a General Manager:
We are looking for a creative and entrepreneurial General Manager to join and lead our team in our stylish, food-focused pub. As the successful General Manager, you will embrace the autonomy given to run your business and offer unique ideas to drive your team to success. You will have a genuine passion for exceptional customer service and a proactive approach to team management. You will recruit and develop your team to ensure they have the knowledge needed to delight our customers. You will also be someone who is committed to their career in hospitality, and we can offer ongoing development to support you as you grow and succeed with us.
