Company Description

Southeast Motors is a leading premium automotive group in the South East, representing renowned brands and delivering exceptional vehicles and trusted servicing. The network includes Jaguar Land Rover sales and service in Basingstoke, Brighton, and Crawley, dedicated JLR Service Centres in Chichester and Croydon, and a specialist JLR Trade Parts Centre in Crawley. Additional sites provide BMW & MINI servicing in Basingstoke, Volvo servicing in Croydon, accident repair centres in Crawley and Southampton, and assured used car sales in Chichester. Across all locations, the team focuses on outstanding service, expert advice, and high standards of care for retail and business customers. Southeast Motors is committed to quality, expertise, and trust, keeping customers confidently on the road.

The Role

The General Manager is responsible for effectively managing the resources within the business to achieve the required objectives, including sales volumes, profitability, employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction, and loyalty levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a customer service driven environment and culture through regular communication, team building, and coaching with managers and employees of the business.
  • Understanding of manufacturer mystery shopping criteria and ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Communicate and maintain customer service standards and measurements in line with the requirements of the brand. Achieve balanced scorecard requirements.
  • Provide clear leadership by ensuring the vision and objectives for the business are understood and communicated by the staff.
  • Recruit department managers in line with organizational requirements.
  • Agree objectives and work standards with department managers and review their performance on a regular basis.
  • Develop and monitor the business plan for all sales areas with senior managers and the manufacturer in order to meet business objectives, profit margins, and market penetration. Liaise on a regular basis with manufacturer representatives and company senior managers to review key performance indicators of the business.
  • Ensure the business adheres to current UK legislation and that manufacturer operating standards, policies, procedures, and financial controls are regularly reviewed in order to maximize business performance.
  • Formulate and agree marketing activities and budgets for the business in order to create and maintain brand awareness.
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of Health and Safety requirements and regularly review with departmental managers in order to comply with Health and Safety regulations.

Skills & Requirements

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Smart appearance.
  • Competent level of education.
  • Good understanding of sales and aftersales operations.

Experience

  • Previously employed in a similar role.
  • Prestige motor manufacture experience.
