General Manager Vacancy

Bel & The Dragon, Kingsclere

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we’re once again looking for a new General Manager for this great site.

Situated in the heart of Kingsclere, a village between Newbury and Basingstoke, with a significant refurbishment planned for FY27, this is a great opportunity for someone to make an immediate impact!

With 9 cosy bedrooms, a fantastic bar, restaurant and courtyard garden, it’s known locally for its excellent food and warm welcome. The site benefits from tourists visiting the area due to its proximity to Highclere Castle, known for being the home of the Crawley family in the Downton Abbey.

Nestled amidst the rolling hills and verdant landscapes of Kingsclere, Bel and The Dragon stands as a timeless gem within this charming town. The building’s historical architecture and cozy interior provide a welcoming haven for both locals and visitors alike. From the neighbouring horse racing crowd or from the many shooting parties, the spirit of community flourishes within the walls of Bel and The Dragon. Whether it's a quiet pint by the fireplace or a lively gathering during community events, Bel and The Dragon reflects the heart of this idyllic town, where the appeal lies not only in its picturesque setting but also in the authentic connections forged among its residents.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
